Cassidy’s Cottonwood Golf Course celebrated a major milestone on May 3, 2025, hosting its 20th annual “Shots for Kids” fundraiser. The event raised over $20,000 for Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes research and local youth initiatives, continuing a proud tradition of community support and charitable impact.

This year’s edition featured a full day of golfing fun, skills challenges, a delicious spread of food and beverages, music, and plenty of laughter—all under sunny skies. Families, friends, and golf enthusiasts turned out in large numbers, with the event selling out in advance. Many attendees have supported the event for years, and organizers were thrilled to see so many familiar faces return to celebrate the 20th anniversary.

The fundraiser was originally launched to honour and support local children living with diabetes. Two decades later, it has grown into one of the Cowichan Valley’s most anticipated annual events.

Organizers thanked participants, sponsors, staff, and the dedicated team at Cottonwood Golf Course for their ongoing support. “Every swing, smile, and donation is making a difference,” one organizer shared on social media.

Plans are already underway for the 21st edition in 2026—with hopes to raise even more in the years to come.
