Q: What information should I have filled in on my Golf Canada Membership?
A: All Players looking to compete in any British Columbia Golf Championship must have an active Golf Canada Membership. Players are required to have all personal information listed below visible on their account. Players who do not have this information listed in their Golf Canada account will not be able to register for an event until they have made the necessary updates. Note that it can take up to 24 hours for your account to update before registering with Golf Genius.

Q: How do I generate a Golf Canada Handicap Index?
A: Players looking to register for a British Columbia Golf Championship must have a Golf Canada Handicap Index. Players can generate a handicap index by posting their scores to the Golf Canada Score Centre. A player will generate their handicap index after they post 3 18-hole scores to the Golf Canada Score Centre. It is important players post all of their scores to the Golf Canada Score Centre, so they always have an accurate handicap index.
Q: When and how do I register for a championship?
A: Registration dates and deadlines are available under the “Provincial Championships” section of the Championships Home Page. Credit card authorization will be required to submit your entry. Entries must be received by 11PM on the registration deadline date.
International players must contact the Tournament Director to register.

Q: How do I play/gain entry to a British Columbia Golf Championship?
A: Entry priorities vary for each Championship and are released at the end of January on each tournament website. Entry priorities will be listed on the Championship’s tournament website under the “Home” dropdown menu. Specific tournament websites can be found under the “Provincial Championships” section of the Championships Home Page.
For the BC Amateur and BC Junior boys, players looking to compete in a British Columbia Golf Championship MUST qualify to the championship through the following ways:
- Qualifier
- Qualifiers are offered primarily through your zone. Zone information is listed on the British Columbia Golf Website under “Zones”.
- Exemption
- Players can earn direct entry to the championship through an exemption. Players can earn an exemption based on past and current performances. Exemptions are available on each British Columbia Golf Championship website under “Entry Priorities”. For the BC Junior and BC Amateur, players who wish to apply for an exemption can fill out the form on the tournament website. Players who are exempt will receive an invitation email to register.

Q: If I am exempt for a championship, do I need to register?
A: Yes, if you have earned an exemption for a British Columbia Golf championship, you still must register for the championship to claim your spot. If you do not register before the entry deadline, you will forfeit your exemption.
Q: I have applied to play in a Championship. When will my entry be accepted and charged for my entry fee?
A: If your application meets entry criteria and new entries are currently being accepted, you will be accepted within 72 hours of submission. A reminder that you can see entry criteria and timelines under “Entry Priorities” of each Championship.

A: British Columbia Golf’s championship and qualifier vary in price depending on the championship being played. British Columbia Golf Entry Fees can be found on the Championships Home Page under “Provincial Championships”
